Snyder swam half a mile across the lake, after a fishing boat holding him, cousin Jeffrey Snyder, Krista Witherell and their 9-month-old baby, Aubriana, overturned in strong winds and high waves at about 8:30 p.m. After making sure the others were wearing life jackets and were holding on to the boat securely, Logan swam across the lake and stopped at the first house he saw. Snyder was also recognized for his actions by Benzie County Sheriff Ted Schendel.
