The hinge is of particular note as well: at 1.5 inches long, it's huge for a mobile device, and it's put to good use. The flip-out screen is incredibly stiff and stays put, from about a finger's width above the controls to fully extended at 180 degrees, allowing for a variety of play styles. SHIELD owners won't have to worry about constantly adjusting the hinge, as in some cheap laptops. The stiffness of the hinge will show up later in the Media section of this review.
